History

Renata

The members of Renata had all attended Enfield High School in Enfield, Connecticut.[1]

They had recorded and self-published two albums before Jeff Blue spotted them in 2004 playing a show at the Whisky a Go Go, in Los Angeles, California.[2] Blue, a vice-president of A&R from Warner Brothers, had a reputation for signing major acts such as Macy Gray and Linkin Park. A meeting between him and the band initiated a two year period of song writing, traveling back and forth between Connecticut and Blue's Hollywood office. In late 2006 the band was signed to Virgin Records and subsequently changed name to The Last Goodnight.

The Last Goodnight

In July 2007, the band started a nine week tour around 36 locations in the US in order to promote the release of their new album, Poison Kiss. Touring with them were Rocco DeLuca and the Burden. In the fall the band joined Elliott Yamin and fellow opening act Josh Hoge on Yamin's tour of 31 cities, mostly in the US but with two in Canada. This tour began on 5 October 2007 in Chicago and ended on 26 November in Washington DC.

The song Pictures of You was released from the 2007 album and has been featured in several situations:

Two further tracks from the album became singles - Stay Beautiful and This Is The Sound, whilst In Your Arms was added to Australian radio playlists. The band turned its focus to making a new record but after a short tour in 2008 and no additional success charting in the US, they were dropped by Virgin.

The members turned mostly to careers outside the music industry, although in 2011 Kurtis John (Henneberry) began performing new songs in a solo capacity.
